History
Our story starts...
The Brown Property is a magnificent 45-acre green space with a long stretch of Little Barton Creek. The land provides critical habitat for local plants and wildlife. In 2017, the Bee Cave City Council purchased the land and pledged to its residents to protect it as open space. After its acquisition, the City has maintained this land as a natural resource and initiated environmental studies and a capital improvement project aimed at improving the accessibility of the site as a nature center, offering City residents a momentary reprieve in an area that is increasingly being overwhelmed with cars, pollution, and noise. Citizens for Preservation of the Brown Property, a group of Bee Cave residents, united to help ensure the Brown Property remains protected and to hold the City Council accountable for commitments made to Bee Cave residents.
